Go Solar Group Solar Module Options

Go Solar Group's Prefered Solar Panel

Unless necessary or specified, Go Solar Group installs Axitec solar panels. These modules are high-quality German-engineered products at an affordable price.

Axitec: AC-315MH/120SB

  • 315-watt panels
  • Module Conversion Efficiency: 18.96%
  • Half-cell technology
  • Black on black design
  • Warranty
    • 15-year Product Warranty: Covers manufacturer defects.
    • 25-year Production Warranty: guarantees 85% of original power output over the first 25 years and 90% over the first 15 years.

Premium Module Options

We recognize that the Axitec modules we offer are not a perfect match for everyone, which is why we offer premium panel options. If a customer requests premium panels or the roof has limited space, we will install one of the following solar panels instead:

LG

Solaria

Silfab

These solar panels do cost more, which is why we don't install them on all of our solar installs.

Solar Inverter: SolarEdge

For a solar array to perform optimally, it is best to pair solar panels with a quality inverter. Go Solar Group uses SolarEdge inverters on all of its solar installations. These string inverters are perfect for a wide range of solar designs because of the power optimizers installed with each solar panel. Below are some of the reasons why we use SolarEdge inverters and how power optimizers contribute to these benefits.

Benefits of SolarEdge Inverters

Go Solar Group uses SolarEdge because of the benefits that come with this inverter brand. SolarEdge inverters have a wide inverting range, fewer inverter losses, aren't as bulky and come with a quality warranty.

Wide DC to AC Inverting Range

Each SolarEdge inverter can handle between 3kW – 11.4kW. This wide range in power, converting from direct to alternating current, means homes with higher energy needs still only need one inverter.

Inverter losses

No matter which inverter used, there is some loss in electricity when current converts from direct to alternating. SolarEdge inverters, however, have 33%-50% less electricity loss than the industry standard.

Inverter Weight and Size

SolarEdge inverters are also significantly lighter and smaller than other inverters on the market. These factors make them easier to install and less noticeable.

Inverter Warranty

Often inverters only have 10-year warranties, which means their life expectancy is shorter than solar panels. This warranty difference could mean that the customer would have to replace the inverter before the system needs to be retired. While SolarEdge inverters come with a 12-year warranty, customers can purchase a 20-25-year extended warranty.

The Reason We Use Solar Edge: Power Optimizers

The reason SolarEdge inverters stand apart from other string inverters is the addition of power optimizers to each of the solar panels. Power optimizers are a device that helps increase the amount of direct current produced by each solar panel.

Power optimizers positively impact the solar array in several ways. Some of these positives include:

  • Increased array design flexibility
  • Decreased impact of shaded modules on the production of the solar array
  • Module-level monitoring: available for arrays that also use SolarEdge monitoring.
  • Increased power conversion efficiency
  • Compliant with NEC 2017's requirement for a module-level rapid shutdown.

Solar Panel Racking

 Roof Mounts: Everest

Go Solar Group uses Everest railing for all of its roof mount installations. Some of the reasons we use this railing brand include:

  • Compatible with most roof types
  • Easy installation
  • Open-box rail for better module wiring management

Ground Mounts: Iron Ridge

Go Solar Group uses Iron Ridge railing for its ground-mount solar installations. Although these mounting systems are more expensive, it is worth it because they provide increased rail strength. Ground mounts don't have a roof to support the solar panels, which means the quality of the railing has more influence on the array's durability.

Solar Array Monitoring: SolarEdge

5-year GMS Card

All Go Solar Group installations now include this monitoring type.

  • Uses cellular data to connect the array to the monitoring system.
  • Module Level Monitoring
  • System Performance Visibility
  • Easy access from computer, smartphone, or tablet
  • Improved operations and maintenance capabilities

WiFi or Ethernet Connectivity

While monitoring through cellular data is more reliable, not everyone wants to use this option. If customers don't want SolarEdge monitoring via cellular data, they can choose to connect the monitoring platform through their WiFi or Ethernet.

Consumption Monitoring

For an additional cost, customers can also use SolarEdge monitoring to track their energy consumption. This added monitoring feature allows the customer to determine how much energy they are using so they can determine where they need to cut back.

Home Battery: Tesla Powerwall

Home batteries allow homeowners to power their entire home with batteries. We want to provide our customers with the best product selection possible, which is why Go Solar Group is a certified Tesla Powerall installer.

Tesla Powerwall 2 Specs

  • Battery Type: Li-ion
  • Capacity: 13.5 kWh
  • Max Continuous Charge/Discharge: 5 kW
  • Max Peak for 10 seconds: 7 kW
  • Dimensions: 45.3in x 29.6in x 5.75in
  • 30 amp or less with 1 Powerwall
