What to Expect During the Windy Season

First, consider the power lines and the threat they pose during a wind crisis. It’s best to assume all the powerlines still have power, so don’t try retrieving anything that’s stuck in them.
Second, make sure all personal items get anchored or tied down to some capacity. Securing these items will minimize damage.

Downed Powerlines Due to High Wind
High winds can cause powerlines to fall. They can also force heavy objects to land on them. Wind-related powerline damage doesn’t stop after an excessive wind storm. High-priority facilities, like hospitals and first responder buildings, often have power restored first. Homes in the same neighborhood may run on different circuits, which could mean your neighbor’s power is restored before yours.
